ANNER BELLE CORBETT

ANNER BELLE CORBETT
(June 11, 1918 – September 18, 2008)
On Thursday morning, September 18, 2008, our beloved Anner Belle Corbett was called to her eternal home.
Anner Belle or “Belle” as she was called, was born on July 11, 1919 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Anna Mae (Stackhouse) Perry and Weldon Perry, the fifth of six children. She was educated in the Dillon School System.
On July 9, 1944 Belle was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, the late Robert Lee Corbett. This union was blessed with three children – one son, Eugene Corbett of Portland, Oregon and two daughters Roberta “Robin” Gardner of Brentwood, Tennessee and the late Regina Winn.
Belle and Robert Lee settled in East Orange, New Jersey in 1944 and there they remained, raising their children to love the Lord. They were long standing members of Ebenezer Baptist Church and later Unity Baptist Church, both in Orange, New Jersey. Belle was a devoted member of her churches and loved her fellow church members and her pastor, Reverend James Holcomb. Belle spent the last three years of her life in Tennessee with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Her pastor Reverend Holcomb often visited her there.
Belle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She never met a stranger and was truly loved by all who knew her. She will be missed terribly.
Belle leaves to cherish her memory; a loving and devoted son, Eugene Corbett; a loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Richard Gardner; four grandsons, Damar (Jeanelle) Winn, Tyrone Winn, Jr., Jahad Winn, and Robert Gardner; two granddaughters, Nafisah Winn and Kelsey Gardner; one great-grandson, Radae Winn; two great-granddaughters, Jailynn Winn and Isabella Winn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends.
