April 26, 1991 - June 28, 2008

An Angel was born unto Letha and Dewayne and God said let him play drums and Sing at Oakey Spring.  God also said let him be an Amazing dresser, a dazzling tenor, and a great basketball player.  He grew up to know the Lord and all of his wonders through Sunday school and children’s church.  Everyone cherished the work that this angel did and his grandmothers took pictures of him.

 

Each time he and Jacolby would play their PS2, and argument would occur that would usually end in Letha or Dewayne saying, “Cut that mess out in there”.  Sometimes within the next couple of minutes the two would be happily out the door to Greenview Park to shoot hoops with LeJuan, Justin, Darius, Steven, Ryan, Anthony, Tamaric and Saiquan.  There was always someone for this angel to make a joke about or a way for him to make someone laugh.

 

Whenever a friend was needed or a hand was to be lent, this angel would hop in his sometimes half empty, but never full white Ford Taurus and drive to the rescue.

 

Now that this angel has departed to return to his heavenly Father, he will be missed as the son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend that he was.  Be we are happy knowing that he is in the care of the Lord.

I wish that you were still here with me but I know you are gone to a better place.  I am so sad that you are gone but I am happy that you are up with the Almighty God.

Good-bye Shawn, things will never be the same.  We know you have a more important walk crossing that golden plain.  For you will always be in our heart.  This way, we can never part.

We love you and we can see that you are in God’s hands.  We know this because your footprints are no longer in the sand.
