DADDY
Arthur Johnson…My Dearest Grandfather and Dad
You’re a part of all of us and for that we are glad
Here you now lay within the reach of our hands
Daddy is what you’re called by four children and seven grands
Though you’re not here due to the timing of God’s will
Your characteristics live on in the genes you have instilled
Characteristics of independence, a hustler and hard-headed
Were passed through the bloodline of the children you bred;
Alice Lorraine, your child, a newborn little girl
Here for two years before Bernice entered into this world
Then came Barbara Jean strolling into your life
Barbara Jean, though spoiled was a bundle of joy
Now comes Howard Durand, finally a boy
Three of which have children, which equal your seven grands
Who have three boys and two girls as it presently stands
Daddy, we’ll always love you though you’re now gone
The time has now come for you to leave and move on!!!
Always,
Your Children
